In 1999, the body of a naked man was found draped over Tilikum at SeaWorld in Orlando. Officials said the man had stayed in the park after closing and apparently fell into the whale tank. An autopsy found he died of hypothermia. Officials also said it appeared Tilikum bit the man.

検視の結果、死因は低体温症だとわかった。

hypothermiaという単語は昔Merriam-Webster's Vocabulary Builderで覚えました。こんなにいい本が500円とは、かなり安いです。大きさは幅は文庫本位、高さは文庫本よりあります。厚さはページが550ページ以上あるので、厚いですが、持ち歩きには便利なサイズだと思います。この本ではhypo/hypの章で紹介されていて、この章の最初ではunderやbelow normal等を表す接頭語と説明されています。hypothermiaの欄ではsubnormal temperature of the bodyと定義され、例文と説明が続きます。その次の章はhypothermiaの流れでtherm/thermoを使った単語が紹介されてます（therm/thermoはというギリシャ語由来でwarmを表す）。
